stalled?!?!?

I was driving around tonite and all the sudden i noticed that when i hit the brakes, my stereo display dims as well as all my gauges. Then I noticed that my headlights were dimming when i hit the brakes too. All the power in my car dipped down every time i pushed the breaks in. So when i got home i was fiddling around trying to think of what it might be. I turned on my brights and hit my brakes and the car stalled out!! When i do hit the brakes the tachometer doesnt dip at all just all the power does. Someone please help, this sucks.

Word of advice. Dont travel far from home. :) Sounds like the alternator is going out. You can have it tested at pretty much any parts store. Some of them can even test it in the car.

Its deffinatly your alternator, better get that checked quick!

*chimes in * sounds like an alternator to me too, get that fixed soon, can kill your battery quickly... i hadto replace both of them...

Ditto, my alt charged my battery at 26 volts and fried the thing to shit, my car smelled like rotten egg from the battery acid.....
