I am pretty sure this is what is in the manual but it might not be! If it is like my civic just press and hold the odometer reset button then turn the key to the second position (dont start the car) keep holding the button down until the light goes off. I think it takes about 5 or 10 seconds. I hope this helps!

do you know what caused the light to begin with? bring it to a place to have the code read

The maitenance required light isnt the same as a check engine light. It comes on after X number of miles since its last reset. Its there to remind you of things like when the factory wants you to change your air filter, rotate tires, and inspection stuff.

right, im aware of that... but what maintainnaceis required? he might as well find out before he turns it off... and most places that read the code can clear it

The maint. req. light will not tell you what codes or what maintanance needs to be done...all its there for is to remind you of your normal maintance schedule for fluids and tire rotation inspection, brakes...etc.

As for the TSX im not 100% sure but i think you should completly start the car in order to reset the Timer.....I know this is true for all 94-01 Integras...
