power maniacs

Why does almost every car sold these days get slammed for not having enough power? The point of cruising isn't to make the road go by faster then you can see, unless you're on a racetrack- it's to sit back and enjoy the ride. And I admit I'm somewhat of a tree-hugger, but not having to fill up the ol' tank for another 700 miles in a car is nothing short of convenient.

I'm not opposed to muscle cars, but if you find yourself looking at the engine and nothing else, go for a cruise in your smoothest ride and try to appreciate that there's more to a car then speed. :)

I'll agree with that to an extent. People who go out cruising in their muscle cars or cars with hopped up engines don't do it just because they like to drive fast and they're power freaks, if they're like me they do it for the wind in their hair and the freedom to just drive, kinda like what your saying. Besides, a lot of the time(not all) people who are just looking at the engine probably dont have enough respect for their vehicle as it is, and probably race it whenever they get the chance. My cousin's dad has a 79 Z28 camaro with a 350 pushing close to 400 horses and he just goes out driving whenever he gets the chance to drive it. He can get away with the racing if he wants but he just likes to go with the flow and be on the road. So basically, there are more people out their who appreciate their car for more than an engine then you think
