hey guys,
first post.. so hi to all, really like the forum.. very helpful and i thank all the regulars in advance for the help the provide... i like drawing cars... but always been for fun and usually they turn out like a kid from prep drew it.. but i want to get a tad bit serious about sketching..
iam ok with basic shading and drawing.. but i suck and perspective drawing and detail... can never get the rims and rear of car right. here is a sketch i did just before:

the bottom one is an example of prep school drawing, top one i did just before, dont laugh but it took a bit of effort.

You've got a good start going here. Try buying some circle and elipse stencils so that you can get a nice round wheel going. Tracing photographs is a good way to learn perspective especially when it comes to doing wheels.

Hey, welcome to the forums, and i assure you that being here will help improve your techniques. i know it did me, being here almost 3 years has turned me from a little box, to having people want me to draw their car.
Have fun drawing :D

hey there, welcome to the forum. you made some nice sideviews..if i look in old schoolthings of me i find those too haha;) didnt do anything else back then!! (and still not, but now i do it more serious than ever;))
if you want to learn drawing in 3d, tracing photo's is an option, but if you trace you maybe have no clue of what ur tracing or why it is like that.. it will be a lot of practising!! and looking at real products/cars.
but if you really want to be a good artist you'll be one!! so good luck with everything.

Welcome! Nice sketch! You'll definitely learn a lot from this place, lots of talented people here and with many styles of artwork to see.
Looking at lots of car magazines and watching the Speed Channel helps too. By looking at the many different kinds of car stylings, you get to see many different ideas. The best part about being an artist is that there's no age limit; anyone can be a great artist, no matter what their style may be. :D
