92 model rough idle and stalls

i have a 92 sable that has a rough idle and then stalls when i get in my car. usually happens if i drive it awhile and stop to get food or something and come back out and tries to start it. it will run rough and stall out. you can wait a little bit and try to start it and it will be fine. it has a new IAC and a fuel pump. this happens about once a week any ideas??? thanks
also no check engine light is on

When's the last time the car had a tune up consisting of the fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, and a bottle of fuel injector cleaner?

Maybe you have a weak spark that's not buring all the fuel, or possibly a leaky fuel injector(s) that floods the cylinder(s) making it hard to start until the fuel can evaporate or leak past the rings. When the car doesn't want to start, pull as many spark plugs as you can get to and see if they are damp with fuel.

Also check the coolant temperature sensor to make sure it is in normal operating range.

If your car has a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, you may want to very carefully clean the sensor elements.

If you clean the MAF, I would recommend to use electrical contact cleaner. It works well and leaves no residue.

You can get actual MAF cleaner at just about any auto parts store.
Apparently there is a difference between it and contact cleaner

i was going to look at my MAF and clean it. i havent looked into the EGR system on this car yet, is it possible the egr is sticking on and causing a massive vaccumm leak intermittmently?

It is certainly not unheard of for a chunk of carbon to get lodged in a closing EGR valve. If that were to happen, depending on the size of the carbon, it could cause the stalling, certainly a rough idle. If you have a hand vacuum pump, you could attempt to open the EGR valve one of the times that the car is idling rough and see if it has a drastic effect or seemingly no effect. If seemingly no effect, that may indicate the EGR is already partially open.

Or, just take the EGR valve off and clean it.
