master brake cylinder ?

can any of the master brake cylinders be interchanged?

i have a 89 crx si and needs a new one can i use one from a dx,or 1.5?

im guessing you can with the hb si.

oh anyne know how to do the screw driver method to push fluid out lines?

not sure about the "screwdriver" method... never heard of it... but you can pretty much interchange anything w/ anything in that field, as long as you replace the booster too... I think the Si had a bigger booster than the rest tho, but don't quote me on that.

as long as its a civic master cylinder its pretty much good to go unless its go abs ect. even then i dont think it matters but go with the 90-91 civic 4dr master cylinder thats a 15/16 bore vs the 13/16 bore for a bit more stopping power.

rofl... I do that too.. but sometimes, i fix something that doesn't really need to be fixed, and something else just auto-magically fixes itself :D I love it when that happens... example... I changed the front calipers on my old escort... no signs of leakage or anything, just got dual pot calipers for it.. and wanted to change them... well, when I put them on, I went for a drive... and for some reason, my tach started working, when it never did, since I bought the car....

I boosted that car, and all, and after everything I went through, the Tach never worked... but I change the brake calipers, start the fucker up, and guess what!!!

Ah, those days are just special.. the kinda day that you call off work, and go for a really long drive, which subsequently kills your I/C b/c it was too exposed when you hit the racoon @ 120... dammit.

hahaha nice story dz..also i think you can use a certain accord master cylinder and itll improve your stopping power..ive wanted to do it for a while now because mine leaks but oh well..doesnt matter cuz the clutch is shot so i cant drive anyways..

Yea, I think one of the older Accord M/C has a bigger bore and some bolt pattern as the smaller Civic M/C. Most bigger M/C switch bolt patterns, so in order to use them you would need to swap boosters as well...which is what I ended up doing, Almost have all the DA Integra brakes on mine except for the front brakes(don't want to change spindles for them).

its the 87-89 accord si or like lx or whatever the highest model is. but honestly im telling you jsut get the 90-91 civic 4dr rear disc break master cylinder. 100% matched fit.
