Will a 93 ford aerostar motor fit in a 93 taurus?

are you talking about a direct fit? If the taurus and the aerostar probaly have the same engine, then it will fit, check to make sure. I say this because you could make almost, any engine fit with some work. Shoot if you could put a 351 into a pinto if you want to.

Yeah I guess a direct fit is what I mean, I know the motor will probably have to be turned but it is the same type. The catch is that the van is rearwheel drive and the taurus is front, is there some way to work around that or is it even an issue?

The Aerostar uses a transmission for the rear wheel drive, the Taurus uses a transaxle for the front wheel drive, so the engines are probably the same if your Taurus has the same 3.0L V-6 as the Aerostar.
I assume you have access to a good Aerostar engine which is why you ask. Following the demise of the Aerostar, the Windstar used the same basic drivetrain as the Taurus, it was actually based on the Taurus. There's pretty much no doubt that a Windstar engine would fit a comparable year Taurus, but I realize that info probably doesn't help you much in this case.
