Ferrari 575M replacement to have longer wheelbase and Enzo's V12 engine

"First images have emerged of the Ferrari 575M replacement, due out in September 2004. Immediately obvious is the longer wheelbase, as Ferrari strive to improve handling and increase cabin space. The A-pillar has been moved significantly back from the front wheels, allowing the new 5.5-litre V12 engine to be mounted further towards the centre of the car and improve balance, steering and braking.
Ferrari estimate that the weight distribution of the current 575M, which sees 54% distributed over the front wheels, can be swapped to the new car's rear end, leaving around 48% over the front wheels on the new model. This will greatly improve the cars roadholding as well as allowing enhanced braking which will be complimented by carbon fibre brake discs.
The design, again Pininfarina-styled, is expected to feature heavier curves and a more agressive shape in keeping with its position as a large "Grand Tourer". Ferrari are believed to have been stung by criticism of the 575M for its minimal visual alterations and somewhat bland looks.
The chassis, like the 360 Modena, is an aluminium spaceframe covered in aluminium panels, with some use of composite materials. This in itself should see a weight saving of around 100kg over the 575M.
The new model will use the Enzo's new V12 engine, reduced from 6.0-litres to 5.5-litres. Meanwhile power will be pushed to around 580 bhp, compared to the 575M which puts out 515 bhp from an engine 250cc larger."

Agreed, but I Think it's just the camoflaouge (SP) right now. I personally thought that the 550 was one of the sexiest looking ferraris, if not the best. Hope this one isn't too altered from that design, I love the big Italian GT's.

Thanks for those links, I'm not too worried about the design because that camoflauge is very heavy as of now.
Thanks menu, I was away for thanksgiving, but I'm back in the mix.
