Hi Guys, I have a 98voyager with the factory installed Am/FM with a casset player. I dont drive around with the music blasting (it is a mini van) or anything and one by one the speakers have been failing.
First the drivers front speaker would work intermintly and then went dead altogether. Then the left rear went and now the front right.
I am down to the one right rear speaker.
I have never blown a speaker in my life and was wondering before I go buying 4 new spakers could it be the Radio itself??? has any one else experinced this??? Do the speakers or the radio for this model seem to have a problem???
Thanks in advance

Never heard of them just going though if its the standard radio they use about $10 speakers in the car , the rears in my old 96 were shot when i got rid of it though . If you get sound but it just sounds like crap then its the speakers itself , if no sound at all I would suspect the radio .

:banghead: Do you still have the factory stereo installed? If you upgraded your stereo then the problem might be that the out put power is too much for the origional speakers. When I bought my 95 the previous owner had replaced the stock stereo with a high power aftermarket unit. The speakers in my van where the origional infinity speakers which as it turns out have their own amplifier built in and are very sensitive to any increase of input power causing them to go out pretty quickly. In my case I noticed the front
speakers go out first 1 then the other then the rear speakers started sounding distorted (Blown up). I eventually went out and bought 4 new aftermarket speakers (Unamplified) which instantly solved the problem.
By the way (Atleast in my case) the door speakers are 5x7's and the rear are 6x9's I must say how ever the speakers up on the dash havent been replaced and sound just fine. Hope that helps
