Belt Sqeal

I have a 2002 1500 with the 4.8, i have recently started to hear a squeal coming from the AC pump, and it only squeals when the compressor clutch engages, while using the AC or defrosters. I was wondering if the compressor was going bad wouldnt it squeal more often? So im thinking is it just the belt? Or do i need to put a can of the AC lubricant in the AC system? and how do you put tension on that belt since the AC has its own belt right off the crank. And also do i need to take the fan off to replace the two belts. Or can it be done with the fan still on. Any and all information would be appreciated

One more thing, do the 4.8's have a tensioner pulley and a idler pulley, i seem mto see two pulleys that just redirect the belt, and i know one is the tensioner.

any thoughts, i ordered new clutch bearings for the compressor and im going to change all the belts, both tensioner pulleys and idler pulley.

Sounds like probably just the belt. Some of those (although I couldn't tell you what years) have a belt for everything except the A/C compressor, and a seperate A/C compressor belt.

To see which is the tensioner, look at the belt routing diagram, which should be under the hood somewhere, or possibly on the new belt's sleeve.

Ok, i fixed it, i put a new AC tensioner on and a new belt, original tensioner was shot, you could move it by hand and it would stay where ever you moved it to. So easy fix, thank god, i was really hoping it wasnt going to be the AC compressor. Thanks again guys!
