Hi everyone. Long time wanderer, first time poster. I'm looking for some resin calipers for an Enzo I'm working on. I already have all of the photo etch, just not the calipers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome
You could modify the kit callipers?
A post in the classifieds thread may help you find somebody willing to part with some?

I'm pretty sure hat I saw Tang working on exactly this- as set of resin calipers made from the kit parts, designed to be used with PE rotors. I thought Crazy Modeler was intending to use them as masters for a caliper set they were going to sell, but don't know if that happened. Tang would be the best person to ask.
On the other hand, to may bear mentioning that the plastic kit parts in the tamiya Enzo are magnificent. Sure, they don't have the ventilated edge detail that a PE sandwidch has, but the Enzo has covered wheel arches- so even with the wheels off that's a detail that is nearly invisible anyways. Given a good paint job (and a bit of appropriate weathering), the kit parts would in no way look inferior to a PE replacement.
When I get around to my Enzo, I have no plans to replace the brakes- I'll save that kind of work for a build where it can be better seen and appreciated afterwards. :2cents:
Oh, and welcome to AF!

Hey, I was just thinking the same thing a couple days ago.. I need to find enzo calipers too. If I can't, then I'll have to mod the kit brakes.
@MPWR: I'm planning to leave one of the wheels off to show off the PE brakes and calipers..
I finally realized why I got my SMS sup detail enzo kit so cheap... the seller removed the resin calipers provided...:angryfire ...
I don't have a mill or lathe, so I was wondering if any of you had suggestions on how to mod the kit calipers to fit the PE brakes?

The resin calipers in the SMS kit are just resin copies of the Tamiya calipers.

dunno.
my common sense tells me to use a bit drill to make rough holes where needed then clean up with a fresh sharp knife/blade. How else would you do it?

Small diameter rotary saw in a dremel.

even better; quicker and cleaner but with a little bit more risk.
so there you have it, two ways depending on what tools you have.

How else would you do it?
- needle files
- popsicle stick with sandpaper glued on
- Dremel with thin grinding wheel
- PM to someone with a milling machine
...
Does that help?

Thanks for all of the replys and suggestions. I checked the mediamixhobby website and the resin calipers are out of stock. I originally tried to cut off one of the calipers from the kit brakes, and that didn't turn out so well. My Enzo has been shelved out of frustration of getting the brakes right. LOL I think I might have some extra kits with the same brake calipers that I'll try to cut out and see how that goes. I'm finishing up a Supra that I've started in the mean time, I'll be sure to post that project in the WIP area.
