new to mustangs

hey guys. i am wanting to purchase a mid-90's mustang gt for my new daily driver. can yall tell me which engine would be more reliable, considering they are in fair condition: 4.6l or 5.0l.... i expect to pay around $4000-$5000. is that a good price for a car with 140k miles? what about gas mileage for the two?

Not really. You have to put into consideration what alls done to it, what options it has, ect ect. 4-5k isnt a bad price if its in good shape and hasnt been abused. Need more info.

i was just wondering if there were any very common problems with these engines. i know my 2000 chevy is known for oil leaks at the rear main seal. stuff like that......

i found a 98 gt auto with 102k miles for $4250. the car was a little slow to crank the first time. second time it fired right up. kinda had me worried... is this normal?

I drive a 96 gt w/ 73k. It can struggle at times to start, though the more often it gets driven, I've found the easier it is to start. Also, if you usually start the car with the stick in first, it may help to start it in neutral.
