Give us some more info on your car. What model trim do you have (i.e. XE, GXE, SE, GLE, etc...)? How many miles are on the car? What condition was your car in before the accident? I have a hard time believing that your car is only worth $3k on KBB, unless maybe you are going by the trade-in value, or if the vehicle has a lot of miles or in really bad exterior shape prior to the accident. You should instead use the Suggested Retail value (what the dealer charges for a used car) to help plead your case with your insurance company. I've had a vehicle totalled once before, so I'm familiar with the process. I might also consider going to more than 1 body shop (go to at least 3 different shops to get multiple opinions). I wouldn't settle with your insurance company for $3k on an '01 altima, unless they agree to let you keep the salvage title on your car (i.e. you get to scrap your car for parts and make as much $$ as you possibly can); even then, I would only consider that my last possible option. Hope this helps!
Cheers. :grinno:

i have a 2001 altima that is a total in the rear. Front is good. Let me know if interested. Airbags not deployed. Tan interior

My 2001 , i was hit in the rear, and right rear frame rail got bent. Insurance payed me 6k and totaled the car. It had 4k in damage and 96k miles on it
