I bought my truck a few months ago and the old owner said the abs light would come on every once in a while. Well since ive owned it, every time i start it, its off. The moment i hit the brakes, it turns on and stays on till i turn the truck off. Is this common problem? any clue to what it is?

My dos centavos....
You probably have a trouble code set for the ABS...but the typical consumer code scanners won't read them.
Check your fuses for the ABS system.
What I would try first would be a flush of the brake system; this service can be performed at most garages so if you have a good mechanic/shop ask them about it.....they can also probably scan the ABS computer for any codes and tell you specifically what the problem is....in any event flushing the brake system is a good idea especially with ABS.

Frt sensors are a common problem, an accurate diagnosis, as mentioned, can be accomplished by checking sensor speed inputs with an abs function scanner.

Thanx for the response. I had a feeling i HAD to get a diagnosis test on it but was just going to see if anyone else had an idea on a common problem.
