Well, I have been searching for another airbrush. I finally settled on this one:
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n4/rsxse240/stuff/100_2232.jpg
I think I got a pretty good deal on it too. I just printed off the 40% off on the hobby lobby website. so I think I got a pretty good deal for sure.
oh, one more thing. I love how lazy college students slack on their jobs, it occasionally works out for others.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n4/rsxse240/stuff/100_2231.jpg
yeah, so $12.99-40%=$8 and change!

OMG!! you are one lucky bastard!
the list price for that set is 157us... and normally sold for around 120-135US..
I think the person who tagged it missed a zero..
Congrats... and PLEASE inform us if you get this type of, as klutz said, steal again....
Heck, if you sold it on e-bay or whatever you could get a 100 bucks in profit.

Amazingly enough, Hobby Lobby does not use barcode scanners. They're way behind the times. I've also seen similar ridiculously overpriced items there. Gotta love that human error.
When I go to the hobby shop, I often buy a Model Cars Magazine. It always throws the sales clerk, as it doesn't have a barcode and they have to manually type it into the system after a bit of :runaround:

yeah, I gotta give the proper thanks to Brandon, of course.
He calls me up and tells me about a cheap iwata airbrush, so I say "lets go check it out". When I saw which one it was, I about crapped myself, and said "I'll take it" to the lady, then we saw another about 3 or four behind the first that was also mislabeled, and snagged that one as well. Had there been more than just the two, We would have bought them all up, and made a profit, I'm sure.
I know it's morally wrong, but then the 50+% markup that they usually have is just about as wrong. I know they need to make a profit, and pay their employees, and what not, but from time to time, getting a great deal like this really makes one feel REALLY good.

What's wrong with a 50% markup? That's actually pretty low for a luxury item - like an Iwata airbrush - with low turnover. And what's wrong with buying an item for the marked price, even if you think it should be more? It's not your responsibility to audit their pricing; it's theirs.
I think what you did would be wrong only if the clerk was either blind or incompetent in the legal sense of the term; that is, incapable of making ordinary decisions. You wouldn't want such a person to suffer as a result of your actions.

ehh, I had guilt, but then again... hey, maybe the other ones were marked wrong with some rediculously high price of $129.99, I mean who would buy an air brush for that much when there are so many out there for like $20. I thought it was a good deal, and picked it up, right?
hahaha, god that was bad.
I was reading the warranty on it tonight, and it states that it has a 5 year warantee from date of purchase to be proven by the reciept....uhh, how will this work? my hobby lobby reciept says "crafts.....12.99" they'd laugh at me.
well for $8, I guess I can afford to buy the parts needed to repair it at regular price.
as for how it sprays though, I have yet to find out since my Paasche hose doesn't fit it, so I need to get a moisture trap/filter, and a new pressure regulator (just for accuracy's sake)

I can honestly say I don't feel bad about it. I might have small guilt if i just bought it to sell for a profit, but since im gonna be using it... thats a different story... Im just happy I got a good airbrush now!
On a side note, I won a Paasche H series with a #3 tip on eBay for 25 bucks shipped. Came with the hose, cup tools, brand new in case. So in 2 days I got 2 really nice brand new airbrushes for 34 bucks.
Mebe i should have bought a lotto ticket...

That story reminds me of the F2002 1:12 from Revell some years ago.
A warehouse was selling all their big kits for 12€ (~15$?).
And the F2002, which was 100€ at that time, was mislabeled, too :D
I should have bought 2 of them, damn :banghead:
Thats one mistake I can still be angry about today ;)

Well I used my new airbrush today, and I LOVE it!!! that thing sprays so evenly and effortlessly, it's like I don't even have to think about it, and it sprays where I want it, perfectly. Fine lines, thick lines, fades, you name it. The only complaint I have is the way the "throttle stop" works on the dual action paint flow. I have a cheap harbor freight (central pneumatic) dual action, internal mix that has a threaded throttle stop at the back of the handle, where as this one is kind of tricky to get used to, but nonetheless works well.
incedentally, I found this on ebay today
IWATA ECLIPSE ELC 2001 HP-BCS AIR BRUSH SET W/HOSE NEW (http://cgi.ebay.com/IWATA-ECLIPSE-ELC-2001-HP-BCS-AIR-BRUSH-SET-W-HOSE-NEW_W0QQitemZ220162402861QQihZ012QQcategoryZ28111Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
it is NOT my auction, I hope one of you can pick it up for the starting price.
