Finished this comic-based 1957 Vaillant Le Mans car this weekend. Except for the re-shaping of the body (filling, sanding…) it was a real „quick-built“.

Body had been painted Tamiya French Blue (spray can). Michels helmet had been brushpainted Testors French Blue which is much darker than the Tamiya paint. However I think that Tamiyas color comes closer at least for 50s and 60s era cars.
Don’t be confused about the color differences between the unfinished model http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=758102
and the photos of now finished model. Unfinished body had been photographed in house using flashlight, finished photos had been taken outside on a bright day.

What will be next? Maybe a 1971 Vaillant 3-Litres. This car only appeared once in a shortstory battling Porsche 908s on the Nuerburgring. Friend of mine (big Vaillant-fan) made a few 1/24 bodies of this car and I am be happy :iceslolan to get one from him.

Wow, very very very very impressive!
I'm quite a big Vaillante -fan myself too! I love the work you did on one of the first vaillantes ever!
I wish you best of luck in the following cars, who knows we'll even see some 'leader'-cars :)

Excellent subject and the setting you made for this model is just as great and a perfect home for this beauty.
