Fuel Injection

I am trying to figure this fuel infection out on my GP. On the plugs that plug into the fuel injectors themselves, should that have any resistance in it? Some plugs have no resistance, some have at least a little. I had replaced one already that had been chewed on bye a mouse.

The last thing is I was told bye an ex-mechanic that the resistance of the injectors when checked with an Ohm meter should be 11-12 ohms. Does that sound right?

Thanks

I'll assume this is the 91 GP you have in your signature since you didn't mention it.

The injector spec he give you is a good base line, but not 100%. Injector resistance will increase with age, so the best thing to do is to make sure they are all within a few percentage points of each other. The harness itself, when unplugged from the main car harness, should show an open circuit.

Sorry, yeah its the GP in my sig. 4 of the 6 injectors read the same at 12 ohms and 1 reads 9 and 1 is 10.

Anyone kow if the old 3.1 (right?) batch fires the injectors? If it does, you may want to look into replacing the 9 and 10 ohm ones because the injecors are wired in parallel and when power is sent to them, if one or a couple have less resistance than the rest, those two will consume all the voltage because they provide the path of least resistance.

Ok, this will be a school car for my son when I get it reliable. Is it better to just replace the 2 which are on cylinders 3 and 5 or get a matched set of 6? Due to the mileage id hate to sink to much into it other than what I need to.

You should be fine replacing just the two off ones, since the rest are still at factory spec.
