Hi Metro lovers;
I'm looking for info on the size and length of the stud's for attaching the exhaust maniflod to the head. I know I'll never get the manifold off without snaping the studs. I have a 97 Metro lsi 1.3 (4 cyl), and i also would like to know if the ex-manifold from a 95 w/ calf emissions will fit. Up here on the Massachusetts New Hampshire border i've found these cars are hard to find in a junk yard, let alone finding a 4 cyl. The 97's header dumps four pipes into a collector which is almost the size of a one pound coffee can squared off:screwy: . From there it pipes to the cat. The 95/w calf emmissions is more like a regular header that feeds into the cat pipe. I know that I'll have to change the pipe on the 97 to make up the differance but that wont be a problem. I just need to know if I can make the 95 manifold work (bolt pattern). Thanks again in advance

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you on the interchangability of the manifolds You migh be able to have a local wrecking yard check for intrchangability.

You can search for one by going to car-part.com (I can't get in at the moment or I'd add a link) which will allow you to search wrecking yards by state/region for the part you need.

I have checked the yards in the area and the web to locate the manifold. The answer that I've been able to disphyer from speaking with the wrecking yard people is that on some vehicles, the oem header had an add on "can" that acted as a pre cat. This can is approxamatly 6" deep and as I stated in the original text is about the size of a one pound coffee can kind of squared off. So I am now thinking of trying to clean the crack in the header as throughly as possible and braise it......Any ideas....Thanks again for the response
