No, it's curbside. The only FD RX-7 model with engine details in 1/24 scale is the Tamiya RX-7 R1.

I don't think that their are too many Fujimi kits that do have engines. Most of them are "curbside" no engine details. Too bad because some of their cars would be real nice with engines.

the Greddy Ameniya RX-7 you questioned about doesn't come with an engine, but it DOES come with a hood that's seperate from the body, so that if you got an engine from a Tamiya kit, it would be possible to put it in the car.

so if wanted a detailed Greddy Ameniya RX-7 i would have to use the tamiya chassis and the Fujimi body... sounds like a cool project.

Some of Fujimi kits are probebly the most detailed kits ever. Have you ever seen (held in your hands) a Fujimi enthusiast Series model?

Welcome to AF. Well, this is what i think about fujimi detail. I realized, when building my Spoon Civic, the detail just plain sucks. Its all molded in like "blocks" and i've never made one with an engine.

Some of Fujimi kits are probebly the most detailed kits ever. Have you ever seen (held in your hands) a Fujimi enthusiast Series model?
But those kits were made primarily in the 80s. Most probably by a different team of engineers, too. Comparing them with a 1990 and newer Fujimi kit is like comparing chocolate to shit. The Enthusiasts, were the kits that caused them almost to go bankrupt because of the insanely high developing costs. Now Fujimi is all about simplification, and using the same parts for as many kits as possible. It's a dangerous attitude, one that I can see rubbing off on Tamiya with Tamiya's new Impreza STi and 350Z molds being overtly simplified.
But those kits were made primarily in the 80s. Most probably by a different team of engineers, too. Comparing them with a 1990 and newer Fujimi kit is like comparing chocolate to shit. The Enthusiasts, were the kits that caused them almost to go bankrupt because of the insanely high developing costs. Now Fujimi is all about simplification, and using the same parts for as many kits as possible. It's a dangerous attitude, one that I can see rubbing off on Tamiya with Tamiya's new Impreza STi and 350Z molds being overtly simplified.

Fujimi are not the best kits for detail. There underneath's are mostly molded as "blocks" and are not very well detailed. The inside is OK, but not what i would call great. Everything is there, just not molded in the same quailty as a Tamiya kit.
The body is the best though. They offer a big range of kits which, with a bit of easy work turn out really nice. Dont be fooled by alot of there box art though

So far I have done 1 Fujimi kit. The R34 Nissan skyline Turbo. With a name with Turbo Included in it, I was kinda thinking that there would actually be a turbo in the kit (read: Engine). The interior had no detail what so ever and to tell you the truth, the body was the only half decent part of the kit.
So If you can get a tamiya chassis, interior and engine, and put it under the Fujimi body, it would turn out to be a good build.
I am considering buying a Fujimi Series 6 RX-7 (one of the custom ones), but I am looking for a Tamiya series 6 RX-7, one with an engine.

I have to say that yes Fujimi's kits do need more work (especially those with extra body kits - Veilside S15 yuckk!!!!). However, more work = more love for the model
