2000 kia sportage. engine cranks over fine but will not start. I have no injector pulse or spark, also no ground to the fuel pump relay then suddenly everything works fineand my grounds are all good. the relays are good tried numerous pcms as the driver for the injectors and coils are in there. replaced cam and crank sensors. sometimes the vehicle will not start at all other times you can start it on the second try almost religiously. then again it may take 3 or 4 then maybe not at all again. been through every wire on this thing ohmed all grounds even added extras as i am loosing the computer controlled ground for some reason. anyone else had this problem?

... loosing the computer controlled ground for some reason.
?!?......ahh..yeah I guess you mean these things like fuel injectors that get grounded by the computer drivers....
..seems you have done all that the imagination would have come with....I think you are the one who will teach us something when you find out..
Any code ?
mmm....is it possible the ignition switch would have something to do with that...I'd check for 12V on that BLK/YEL wire that that goes to ECM when starting....

have checked all my powers even tried a new ignition switch too boot. no difference. this thing will not start the same way 2 days in a row and it wont stay a no start long enough to finish diagnostic. there are no codes set in it at all. been workin on this thing for like 3 months. aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Well....checking for spark is rather difficult in this engine setup.....mine exhibits some idiosyncrasies too..like start first time, it starts but then misses and coughs and sputters...turn key off and start again...and all is fine....?!?!?.... I know it has some problems with the spark plug wires..and mybe the IAC resets between 1st and 2nd try. ...well just to say the way this engine reacts to "inadequacies" can be surprising....hence the difficulty in diagnosing .
My suspicion about yours would stay with the ignition, cause this is by all means the fragile item with this engine.... along with corrosion of connectors. I suspect you've cleaned the idle air control valve, haven't you ? I'd like it to throw codes, cause some of them will cut injectors to avoid flooding....
IN fact, can you hear or see in anyway that the fuel pump runs for one or 2 seconds the FIRST time you turn the key to ON after a long period of inactivity ?

i have no spark or injector pulse nor does the ecm ground the fuel pump. absolutely no codes. when it starts it runs fine doesnt miss or anything. its like the computer suddenly wakes up and starts working. when its a no start i have even used an o-scope and checked for cam and crank signals to the ecm they are present. sometimes it seems that it starts better when the batt. is about dead. do these things have any sort of security that cuts off the fuel i see there is nothing on the key itself like in gms pass key systems. it almost acts like its missing a ground but i have ohmed every ground out and even added extras. every time i did something it seemed to get better. then an hour later try to restart it amd back to square 1.
