Welcome to AF.

If probley the multi function switch (MFS).

Try a search for "multi function switch" in this forum,
or the grand am forum.

Here are a few links to the same issues.

To access the switch you'll need some torx bits.
The plastic cover behind the steering wheel needs to come off.
Should be two #25 screws on the bottom of this piece, remove those.
The two halves might be connected but slip off pretty easily.
Should be 1 screw holding down the MFS right on top,
and thier are three plug-ins that need unpluged to remove the unit.

Hope that helps.

There is excessive grease in your turn signal switch that is causing the "clicking" noise. You have to take apart the steering column behind the steering wheel, you need either a deep socket OR a torx bit. Then, disconnect the wires that go to the signal switch, then remove the switch. Next, take the switch to a table and remove the screws that hold it together. Watch out for the spring, it'll pop out, but it's easy to place back in. Take a paper towel and begin to wipe off the excessive grease. Make sure that ALL of the grease is not making contact to the electrical parts. You'll need a toothpick to clean off the parts that the towel won't get. The grease is causing a short, and makes the clicking noise that is associated with the turn signal. Then, put the switch back together. I am 100% sure that this will fix your problem. Dealers will charge you about $125 for a new switch, plus more for labor. Trust me, this will work.

Yeah raldo_gtm cleaning helps but they do need new dielectric grease put in the switch to replace the old grease.

This is all outlined in this thread, the second one I posted from above.
