factory alarm

i'm trying to find out where the alarm itself(the main box) is located. when i bought the car, the lady i bought it from didnt have the reomte for it anymore. but when i lock the doors(power locks) it automatically arms itself. but it likes to go off for no reason almost everytime i lock it. I'd like to be able to lock the doors without the alarm arming itself. Does anyone know how to disable it completely or get it to lock without arming itself? Thank You.

Not sure how to disable, but I do know that if the alarm does go off, the proper way to disable is to lock/unlock the passenger door. Hopefully somebody will post the disable alarm process. I also never got a remote with my sebring (bought used).

:wink: Hello, I was just wondering did you even get your alarm problem figured out? I just bought another 2000 Sebring Convertible, it has problems with the electrical. The dash lights, the mirror lights and when I start it lights inside flash on and off for a little while and then goes off.
Do you have any suggestions to what may be wrong?

i attempted to figure out how to disable it, but couldn't. So, have purchased a replacement remote and am still awaiting its arrival. Once it gets here im going to program it and see if my alarm works properly afterwards. I am not having any other electrical problems though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
