weeked chores, spark plugs, pads/rotors etc

Finally got off my butt and put new spark plugs in my 2000. Used autolite platinum. Wasnt as bad as I thought it would be although the back coil was stuck more than the front and the plastic corner cracked a little while I was 'gently' prying on it with a screwdriver. I then noticed I failed to remove the last bolt holding it on, lol. The tq wrench I have doesnt go below 20ft-lbs so I had to tq the plugs by feel. You should have seen the old plugs. I think they were originals and the car has 135k on it. The old plugs looked like hell. I checked the gap on them out of curiosity and they were up around .70! The car pulls to redline much smoother now with the new plugs. Also changed the air filter which I do 1 a year. Hopefully this gets my highway mileage back up above 30mpg. Put new rotors and pads on the front since they were 2 years old and had warped. Used duralast gold rotors and ceramic pads. While I was doing this I noticed the outter tie rod end on the passenger appears to be nearly destroyed (rubber totally stripped away) so I'll change both next weekend. Also gonna change the fuel filter since that is also original. While I'm at it I'd like to put a new pcv valve on it. Where is this located? Also will toss in some new oil. Also gonna have tranny fluid changed soon, but will leave that to the pros since I think I will just make a mess in the ally behind my apartment. Anyone pay for this service and how much? This winter will hopefully see new struts,mounts, endlinks and maybe the gm handling pack while theyre at it. My anti-lock light has been on for months so I think I have a bad speed sensor somewhere. At this mileage though I think I wouldnt hurt to replace both front wheel bearings. Well that was pretty much my weekend fun :runaround:

The PCV valve is located......crap.....on the front? cam cover, you should be able to see it plainly with the engine cover removed. Its sticking out of either the front or rear cam cover. I wanna say front though:). It has a rather large vacuum line running too it.

Changing the wheel bearings might be necessary, or it might not. Thats kind of a crapshoot really. It might not even fix your problem, it could be a rear sensor, or something entirely different. When you take your car in to get the tranny flushed, you might see if they can read ABS codes as well. The dealership or an actual transmission shop would probably have the ability. Or even just a good mechanic. But they might do it for free since you were getting something else done, and they might hope for more work. Just a thought.
