Help w/ stereo

Hi,
I am getting a 91 Celica Conv. I was wondering if any of you could help me. The guy told me that the stereo and cd player work, but the sound is faint. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong, what I could do to fix it?? Any help is appreciated. :confused:

it could be faulty wiring, could the player itself...im votin on the player, doesn't have enough output
