Well you built one of my favorite muslecars. Loks better than my first buld ever did. Although you picked the hardest colour to paint. Black shows off everything. Try a little wet sand and polish, it will help cut out some of your orange peel. Oh ya nothing screams out muscle car more than cragar 5 soke wheels....great choice there!

The orange peel is the only thing keeping it from being a very nice build, even for more experienced modelers. Definitely do some wet sanding with some 2000 grit sandpaper and some dish soap. And get some Tamiya rubbing compound or a polishing kit and smooth it out!! It'll look even nicer than it already does!!

Looks great! You do have some orange peel in the paint (which I'm sure you know), but that's definitely ok for your first build. I'm fighting that stuff still and I've had way more experience than I care to admit.... I would actually say don't sand this one. You're done, so leave it done. On your next kit, work a little differently on the paint. Try a different spray can (what did you use?), try a better/more compatible primer (if you didn't already), and take your time. There is a great tutorial on the front page of the modeling section that'll tell you just how to do it. It still won't come out perfect the first time, but it'll give you an idea of how to do it, and with a couple of models under your belt, you'll be surprised how much better they'll be each time you finish one. Keep up the great work and keep sharing!

Agree with the wetsand and polish. You would be amazed how easy and great the results are.

Its a great build. I love those tires and rims! Were those included in the kit? If so, what kit is it? I may have to invest in that one. Nice work.

Great job on the model. Everyone of our firsts was needing help. Next one you will learn to do paint even better!

I sometimes leave mistakes alone on a completed model for 2 reasons. To show myself how much I've grown and to rememind me to change for the better.
As the others said, black is THE hardest color to get perfect.
Great first model

I agree with Will. Leave it as it is. If you wanted to tell us what products you used and your process, including a time line, We would be happy to help you with your next one. Sometimes its as easy as changing paint products or taking a little more time. I am the worlds worst at rushing things. It looks really good for a first timer. the paint is shiny, there is just a bunch of orange peel. Keep on building and you will get better each and every time!

Ya know... These guys do make a good point about leaving it the way it is. Either way, you did a very good job on your first build and you should be proud of it!!! Continue building and improveing, I think all of us are still learning and improving our skills.
