'98 Jimmy 4x4 4L60E Tranny filter problem

How do I get the old transmission filter spout seal out? Its too late to leave it in, I have already tore up the rubber on it when I tried to pull it out with a small hook. Anyone have experience with this?

They are in there very tight, tap and pry it out with a screwdriver blade, be careful not to damage the case.

I bought a pair of internal pliers that allow you to grip the inside of the old seal when you squeeze the handle...they work like snap ring pliers and the tips are narrow enough to get into that little hole, but have flat, ridged contacts to grip the surface. Got mine at Advance Auto for $20.

I managed to get it out with screwdriver and pliers. I did nick case a little, but only at bottom. The new seal will seal above it. Thanks again.
