I have a 94 stock GT automatic, a little over 125k miles with a 60k checkup completed 15k miles ago.

Alright I was driving back to my school on the highway doing my normal 75/80 cruising. I hit stop and go traffic where I had to slow down to about 20mph. When i accelerated back up to 70 everything was normal and then all of a sudden i could feel the transmission slip gears and my RPM's shot up to about 5k. I slowed down and got in the right lane and kept braking down and accelerating trying to get it back into gear. With no prevail I rode at about 3750-4500 rpms going 55-60mph for a few miles until i got off at the exit for my school. After i got off at the exit whenever i came to a stoplight, i could tell i was accelerating from 2nd gear when i gave it gas. I had almost no power from the start, but it came back as i hit 10-15 mph's. The next day I was going to drive my car to get some transmission fluid, and the car wouldnt go into reverse to leave. When i put it in reverse and give it gas, the engine just rev's. What did i do, and how much is it going to cost to fix. I just got a job as a poker dealer and need my car back by this weekend :(

Why were you going to get transmission fluid? Is there a leak?

boy oh boy, automatic transmission problems

when it comes to tranny's if your not a mechanic or familiar with tranny's
then you might be putting out a lot of money
of course there is many other ways to go about fixing it that my be cheaper.

i've never dealt with auto trans problems, but first things first i'd say take it in to someone who will check it out for free and get back to us
