The title should be "99 Maxima killed by two S2000s" but anyways...I was waiting by my friend's house, he is one of those people that says hes "already outside" but in reality hes not even dressed. As I'm waiting for him, a friend of ours who works valet in a nearby restaurant comes by in a brand new S2000. The car had <1K miles. Waiting for this a**hole to come out, we start talking about how the cars would stack up against each other. When he finally comes out, he gets in the S2000 and we decide to go for a few pulls on the highway. Both times we went from 35-40, which for me in 2nd gear is approx 3800 RPM. We took it to about 80-90. The result was the same both times, I would get about half a car on him but then he would pull hard, very hard. That car is a monster, for a dd at least. I didn't find out what gear/RPM he was in since he had to exit to get back to work and I had to go pick up my mom.
About 2 hrs later I'm heading back with my mom in the car and a trunk full of groceries. A non stock S2000 pulls up by my side and revs a few times. I look at him, and then my mom...and just keep driving. He had I/E, huge Brembos (so I'm guessing there was more engine work, maybe?), fully kitted. After he saw I wasn't interested, he started to pull away. Now, I have no clue why I did this, but as he started to pull away, I down shifted from 5th to 3rd and tailed him. My mom was like "what are you doing?!" I kept up with him for a good 3-4 seconds because, I think, he didn't see that I was behind him, and once he did, I heard his engine rev up and then he engaged warp5 or so....as for my mom, well I had to have a little talk with my dad about what happened later that evening.
My mods: 00VI with VAFC2 and y-pipe.
Cliff Notes: S2000's are great cars.
DO NOT race with mom in car.

Sounds like fun. We dont have many S2000's around here for some reason, but i heard one rip it past me once and i LOVE the sound they make at almost 9k rpms!

Thanks guys, I actually got to drive one this past friday. Even though it was an older model, I think Honda was designing a race car and someone accidentally submitted the plans to the production department instead of the racing department. The car is a lot faster than I thought. It demands respect and involvement. If you're not careful on turns, as I found out, things can get pretty ugly (thank god it was an empty 6 lane road :screwy:).
