Unfortunately, this is one of the drawbacks of doing modifications on modern vehicles. The computer is programmed to run off factory equipment, so when you start decreasing backpressure by adding bigger exhasut, or getting after market cat. converters, or anything else for that matter, the computer may see higher or lower values than expected. so you might not even have anything wrong with the car, just that the computer doesnt like what you have done

Actually you ARE throwing the no cat code. Since you are on the stock s0 computer without a cat(using the cutout downpipe) you are throwing the catless code. Just FYI, when not using a cat and not using s1+ computers you can either get a p0420 or p2096.

how do you get this code to turn off, you know for inspection reasons:grinyes:

Well you could either:
1) Put a cat on
2) Get s1+ pcm
3) Pull up to inspection place, pop hood, pull battery cable off to reset computer and hope it doesn't turn back on in the time you're there.
4) Try the "non-fouler" mod...basically you put this extra piece of metal inbetween the o2 sensor and bung in the downpipe and it's supposed to fix it...who knows though.

No, you cannot just clear the code and run the inspection right after. I believe it is mandatory now that all inspection stations run inspections through the OBDII connector if the vehicle is 1996+. The dealer that I work for does. When you clear the computer, you must reset the I/M flags for each diagnostic test. Usually this requires a few days of driving. If you are lucky, however, the catalyst test will run, but not fail.

Not all counties make you do an emissions testing and diagnostic testing and such. As long as you don't have a cel you're fine.
