Differences In B16 Heads?

Hey there. I have found a company that can sip me complete B16A Heads. The only problem is I don't know the differences between them. The first-gen B16 head would be $388 shipped, and the B16A2 would be $990. What's the extra $600 for? Is the A2 head that much better? I'll be sending the head to www.importbuilders.com for their "dominator" head package to basically restrngthen the head and to upgrade some components. So should I go with the first gen or the newer A2? Thanks for any info.

As far as I know there is no differnce in the head itself, however they do have differnt cams.

Check with the company selling heads, and please report what they say back here.
However I imagine its simply becasue the newer engines cost more to buy, and so parts also cost more. (even when they are the same part)

well, i asked them why the drastic differences in pricing. they told me it was because they have over 30 or so just heads and blocks from the first gen, and to be able to get a B16A2 head, they would have to bust up a complete swap package. I can't really decide if I want to build a CRVTEC or just build up a B16, but either way I had planned on building the head first, truth be told, that's all I can afford now anyways. I had planned on putting in CTR cams in it so I guess there really is no reason to spend the extra $600 just for an A2 model.
