First check the HVAC drain hose and make sure it is not clogged.
Next check for an improperly installed or missing cabin air filter. While doing that inspect the rubber seals under the passenger side HVAC intake cowling. Sometimes the seal(s) deteriorates or gets loose. The plastic piece is located right under the passenger side wiper and retained by a push pin trim fastener and one retainer you can use a flatblade screwdriver on. Plus it may be just loose. It is separate from the driver's side and will remove separately.
While the cabin air filter is removed make sure the intake flapper door is working properly. It is vacuum operated. It is supposed to be closed when the HVAC is turned off and ignition is set to off. During operation the flapper closes in certain modes like the MAX A/C or RECIRC positions so air is not drawn in from the outside. In vent or normal A/C operation the flapper opens to allow fresh air in from the HVAC intake. A properly operating flapper minimizes or reduces water intrusion.
