Relay problems

I've got some minor electrical problems with my '86 944 that create havoc, especially when it rains. I have times when the blower, power windows, and wipers won't work. I open the hood and wiggle the ignition relay (has the number 18 in big numerals printed on it) and then they'll work, for awhile. Sometimes I'll ignore the problem and drive for awhile without the wipers working and they'll magically come on like when I turn a corner or something.

When I wiggle the relay I can hear the relay click so I know the relay is working correctly. It sounds like a contact issue but how do I get in and check out that kind of thing? I have changed the relay twice before but the same symptoms come back within a couple months.

any ideas?

You'll have to get underneath the fuse block so you can back out each wire going to that relay.
