I am new to the forum and from reading 40 posts today I have acquired a great deal of Knowledge. My question is, where is the PCV valve located on a 1998 Grand Prix GT 3.8 engine?

Welcome to AF
It is in the end of the upper intake plenum on the passenger side, under the cover that the map sensor mounts to.
Here's a link to a picture of an aftermarket intake plenum.

The round hole at the right side of the picture (it will be on the passenger side of the car when teh intake is installed) is where the PCV valve is. The MAP sensor sets in a plastic retainer on top of it, and the cover comes off by turning about an 1/8 of a turn. Make sure you remove small black lower o-ring from your old pcv and reinstall it on the new one, or you'll get a vacuum leak that will cause you all sorts of headaches.
