Help Please_how To Remove Steering Wheel

i have a 1989 chevy caprice, i need step by step instructions on how to remove the steering wheel to put a new steering column and ignition in..i can use all the helpful info i can get please and thank you

So are you trying to replace the entire steering coumn, or just the ignition?

you will need a steering wheel puller most importantly

And a locking plate remover as well to get to the ignition. Both can be bought or rented at auto parts stores. You'll need the locking plate tool to put it back together as well because what it does is push the locking plate back so you can get to the little spring clip that holds it in place.

I've had mine off and on so many times, I can do it while drunk and in the dark!
