Went to the track today and ran my bone stock '97 GTP (stock tires too) 6 times and I just wanted to know what you guys think of my times.
Fastest Run:
R/T - .297
60' - 2.159
330 - 6.142
1/8 - 9.439
MPH - 75.35
1000 - 12.282
1/4 - 14.689
MPH - 93.81
Best stuff from all runs combined into 1:
R/T - .189
60' - 2.153
330 - 6.142
1/8 - 9.439
MPH - 75.3
1000 - 12.282
1/4 - 14.689
MPH - 93.82

Sounds to me like it runs like a GTP should. You might improve your times by a little less throttle on launch, less wheelspin. But your times are consistent with all the stockers I've driven and seen run at the track.
Changing the pulleys and recurving the fuel and spark will get you in the high 13s.

All right cool. The first mods I'm going to do to my car tho are getting the u-bend deleted and a new intake then get a new pulley when I get the time. With just the u-bend and new intake do you think that would maybe get me into the 13s?

Don't know about the "u-bend". Is that the fresh air tube? I've seen many GPs with the headlight removed for better air flow to the filter box.
I would change external parts first, then, if you still want more, go into the engine. The pulley and the program would be easiest. No matter what you change, a change in the fuel and spark curves will be called for.

:shakehead
NO!!!! It will take more mods than that and I don't care how good of a driver you are or how well you launch at the strip. :grinyes:
The u-bend delete is removing the bad u-shaped bend with a straight exhaust piece at the output of the CAT convertor but before the resonator. GM did this to protect the rear 02 sensor. Also, an 02 sensor bung should be installed on the straight pipe for the rear CAT 02 sensor otherwise you will need an 02 simulator or the PCM module custom programmed to inhibit the P0420 DTC that would most likely set.
The key to any mods to the L67 SII 3800 especially SC pulley mods of 3.4" or less which will be needed to break the 14 second barrier will be to monitor knock retard (KR) and take the appropriate corrective action. Short of going to an intercooler you will need to work on the exhaust system. Headers or PEMs with a bigger downpipe. Hi-flow CAT convertor. You may need more mods to the intake side in addition to a CAI or FWI. If you don't already have one get a DHP, Intense or ZZP re-programmed PCM module first.
