I'm new so be easy. I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer 4.3 L and have had problems with my smog pump in the past. I purchased a replacement on line and it worked fine until gasket material froze the fan blade and burned up the motor. In searching for a new replacement, once again, I noticed that the part #'s for the 2000 and 2001 were different and yet the two pumps were identical. What is the difference between the GM #12560095 and the #12568324? Could it be the hose configuration from an earlier recall?

That original posting enabled me to replace the last smog pump, that I purchased from a local junk yard, about this time last year. It also, because of it's content, is what prompted me to join AF this time around. It was so informative that I thought you were alongside me doing the job. Much obliged for that.
I guess in trying to save a buck and being somewhat mechanically inclined I figured if the pumps were the same that I could adapt the hose configuration. Unfortunately, I bought the Blazer, used, after the recall to upgrade the hoses etc. anyway. The dealer wants almost $400 for just the new pump and hoses parts. Forget about the check valves and fittings if needed. I'll make it work! All I know is that when I replaced the previous one my gas mileage went up 2 miles to the gallon. Thanks again MT :)

You are welcome and good luck.
If there was a recall the dealer should take care of it.
A recall they pay.
A tsb you pay.
Maybe try another dealer.
Also you might PM e mail Muddog and see it he can help you some.
I Have never been into them.
Muddog's how to is good info on them.
