Transfer case

I noticed I have a crack beneath the drain hole of my transfer case. (01 silverado Z71)
Does anyone know if it's possible to get just a shell for a transfer case, as I believe the transfer case works just fine, or do have to shell out the big bucks for the whole transfer case? It just has a slow fluid leak from the crack below the drain hole. (it seems the drain plug was tightened to tight or something, not sure how the crack appeared.) So I don't want to replace the whole conglamoration if I don't have to.

Welcome to af. You should be able to get just the back half of the case either from the dealer, or a junk yard. You may also check with rebuild shops. As a temp fix you could try cold weld, but don't get any in the threads. Hope this helps.
