Welcome to AF. Bienvenidos.

Espana? Como estas?

Is this the U.S. Alero or the export Euro Chevy Alero?

hi, My car is a Euro Chevrolet Alero 1999 2.4 my problem is:
when there is an inhibitor of frequencies surrounds, the remote control does not work and therefore it does not unblock the inmovilizador of my car. Exists some way to ignite it without the remote control?

thanks for your help

Hard to say based on what you are saying. Seems like something is getting lost in the translation. :p But if you are having problems with the remote keyless entry - the keyfob then try reprogramming it or a new one. Or are you referring to the the anti-theft VATs system, i.e. Passkey and the car is not starting as result.

Hello!

what I was trying to explain to you is, for example, if I loose the remote control of the car, if I forget it anywhere or damaged it, what can I do? Due to the alarm system and the anti-theft, I need the remote control to turn on the car. But, and that's what I need to know, in that case, is there any way to turn it on only with the key? With a code or something? because, only with the key I can't deactivate the anti-theft system and it doesn't allow me to drive the car anywhere, I always need the remote control. But I imagine that it must be a way to deactivate the anti-theft without using the remote control.

On US Aleros the remote control is only a convenience feature. It will not prevent you from getting into or starting your car. For example if the doors are locked I can use the ignition key which will also open the doors and trunk.

If the Euro Alero has the Passlock VATS - vehicle anti-theft system then you may have an issue with Passlock. Could be the key, ignition switch key cylinder or a body control module (BCM) problem.

So are you having problems starting the car?

Muchas gracias. Esta bien.

I will have a friend run a VIN check to see if it is the same as the U.S. Alero which it does appear to. Will double check the GM RPO code for remote keyless entry. The keyfob looks the same.

Hello Anauco, and welcome to AF

I am the friend Bnaylor mentioned. I attempted to run the VIN# you gave him, and regretfully, my GM computer system cannot run it. I believe it has to do with the differences in our Alero being an Oldsmobile, and yours being a Chevrolet. I have a dealer friend of mine calling GM direct to see if they can help us. I will keep you posted.

Regretfully, I cannot read Spanish either, so the instructions you linked do me no good. That being said, your English is way better than my Spanish, so no need to apologize, you're OK with me.

Wasnt sure if anyone decoded those pages yet here is what I got for the two...

Keyless access

With this system you can lock or unlock the doors and open the ___ (trunk?) from a distance of 9 meters, as well as activate or deactivate the starter (I'm guessing this means you can start the car from a distance).

If your vehicle is equipped with an alarm system and anti-theft device, refer to "Antitheft system" under "Keys" in this section.

Press A to lock all doors. The interior lights go out when all doors are closed.

The immobilizer (anti-theft?) is activated and the vehicle will not be able to start automatically after being given the door-lock order.

The parking lights will blink after confirming the activation and security of the locked doors. Refer to blah blah blah section after this section for more info.

Press to unlock the driver-side door and to turn on the interior lights. Press the button two times after 5 seconds in order to unlock all doors.

The lights remain on for 10 seconds or until you start the engine.

And the second page starts like this...

Antitheft is deactivated 2 minutes after the doors are unlocked from the driver's side. The ignition can be started during these two minutes, in order to allow for combustion to start the vehicle. After 2 minutes pass, the antitheft thingy turns on and you can't start the car. With the ignition on, press the new unlock button to reset the time to 2 minutes and disarm the alarm and allow the car to be moved.

I guess the Euro cars are different.
