System

I have been working on my car quite a bit lately and i want to buy a system for it...i just dont know what brands are good and what i should buy...i already have a pair of pioneer 6x9s..and i really like pioneer...should i just buy all pioneer or should i get a different sub? i was looking at the power acoustik MOFO line of subs and they claim to have crazy wattage...like the 12s say they have 1200 watts rms and 2400 peak...that seems really high for a 150 dollar woofer...anyone used these? are they worth it?

Pioneer is pretty much crap in the audio world, unless its their "premier" line, which imo is ok at best... i have 2 10 inch alpine type S subs in the back of my vr4, and you'd be throughly impressed

Oh...Well I dont need it to be like competition worthy...i just want it to sound good and be loud...i always thought pioneer was a good brand...i think my friends pioneer system sounds better than any system around here...which are mostly sony/jbl/kenwood or just cheapos...whats your input on the power acoustik subs?

Well, if you're looking at Pioneer you would be better off buying Alpine, Kenwood, or Clarion for the same price. I know from experience, Pinoeer is crap.

With our hatches almost any sub will sound good with a decent amp and box. So i wouldnt spend over $100, I think power acoustik is about middle line, but haven had them in a car ive owned. What kind of amp are you running?

Depending on your price range you could go with alot give us a price range to work with first. Also are you building your own box if so how big,ported/sealed, if ported where are the ports firing. I love TC sounds, orion,RE, and Fi... i want my tc's back so bad i can't stand it 146.6dbs with sound quality to match damnnn....

i have like 400-450 bucks to spend for a sub, box, amp and 6.5 door speakers...are those visonik bandpass boxes any good? i was thinking about getting one of those and reselling the subs that come with them..then buying 2 10" power acoustik mofo subs...but that would be about 300 bucks of my budget and i dont think i can get an amp to power those subs for like 100 bucks...they would be 2000 watts RMS...(if the specs are true about their woofers)

custom box i think some guy on 3si was selling them 2 diff kinds one that mounts behind the seat and one that takes up the trunk.. He can even out fit them for Square subs (solo barics)sp* but let me look around and i'll try and give you my advice don't feel like I'm pushing you but i just want to help... hell i had 300$ in subs,300$in amp and 75 in box i was consistent 146.6dbs and that was with regular music...

i dont want to pay a lot for a box...its just going to go on the backseats since they are pointless anyways...that bandpass box looks like it would be good and its only 150 with 2 subs in it already...
