hey guys i have a 97'civic ex.(auto) and i am going to do a b16a2 swap..but im keeping it auto. there are two (SiR2) motors A.is obd1 & B. is obd2
now i know i will have to make a custom tranny mount but im wondering if i get the obd2 motor will i still have to go through all that wireing? i know if i get the obd1 i need a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness($250). but has anyone done this swap with an ek? i need to know what im in for. but ive heard it's a pain in the butt. but i havent heard anything about people doing the obd2 version though. but they say the only frustrating part is the wireing is that true? Thank's guy's

If I were you id just get a 5spd. As for OBD, 1 is more tuner friendly, but your car is OBD 2 so Id stay with that for simplicity. Usually when swapping you want to stay the same year or newer.

yea but it's a dd and it's not realy towards performance just a nice little upgrade from d16y8, plus when my wife cant drive a 5speed...lol but i know i can use the stock wireing harness from my sohc vtec, and i gotta extend some wire's i guess for vtec and knock sensor's. but im not sure about the tcu(or is that just with an eg) ive been told i shouldnt have to mess with the tcu?? and also just need to figure out how long the swap should take w/all wireing and motor install. but if i skip anything or leave things out then let me know but other than that it should be a pretty easy swap.
