picked up this primer at a hardware store clearance for 2 bucks, was wondering if anyone has ever used it before? Most importantly anyone know if Tamiya sprays will work over it? If so would be a life saver considering how many 4.50 dollar cans of Tamiya white spray I go through 6 this year already lol:banghead: Thanks

And that is just a smattering of the threads that pop up to do with either duplicolor or primer :)

It looks like the Duplicolor that we (some of us) all know and love. Try it out with some Tamiya spray or either Duplicolor touch up paint. If it works out, go back and grab the rest of it for $2 a can.

More interested in using it to primer small parts that don't need the professional finish of the body, still going to use tamiya primer and spray for the body. thanks

Ah, is that why you're going through primer so quickly.

Try painting small parts without using primer- it's very likely you'll find that you really don't need it for everything. Personally, about the only thing I use primer on is bodies.

Anything has to better than DUPLI COLOR. dupli color is a spit can. Dozens of tries and i've come to the conclusion that if i ever see the dupli color quality control people, I'LL F#%@'in spray their eyes shut!!

I think duplicolor sprays like that are horrible. Now the duplicolor automotive paints in the smaller cans is MUCH better. get the primer that says "PRIMER" not the sandable kind. the sanding primer lays down much to rough, and takes for ever to clean off so you can spray with a GOOD primer.

I personally loved it. My local LHS didn't carry Tamiya Primer before, so I ended up using Duplicolor's primer for some of my model. Just make sure you prepped the body well upon laying the color, as the sandable primer tend to get a little rough.

I used black sandable primer for this:
