ya know... I never realized how much those things looked like CRX's... I've only seen one guy driving one, he was a fat guy that pulled into a gas station while I was putting newspapers in the paper rack there, he went in, bought like four porno's and left in a hurry. It was funny.

I was looking at one at work and realized something, they are hella light. Imagine doing an engine swap like a b18C5 or an H22A.

I saw a pretty clean CRX. Lowered, rims, exhaust, etc. When I got up next to it, there was some old guy driving. Like in his 60's. I just gave him a http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon14.gif and kept going.

insights way like 1800 lbs, a h22 or b18c would probaly twist on in half....not to mention all the problems youd have with that electrical system....but the pics do look pretty sweet...

1800 with batteries. Rip out batteries and wiring and swap a new engine in. Come on it can't be that hard:rolleyes: :D

I used to work at a honda dealership and we had a million of those! To be honest I never did realize how much they looked like rex's either! Has anyone ever driven one? they are actually pretty peppy for being a hybrid. The coolest paert is when you pull up at a light and take it out of gear and release the clutch it shuts off. then it starts up again when you put in the clutch.. kinda neat and it doesn't crank when it starst it just .....turns on?!:D

I work valet and there was one and its pretty cool, i personally think if i could make it look like the drawings, i would make it a show car, and not care about the speed!

Can we say tube frame ... and turbo B motor

half of its weight is the batteries

what a drag car

the idea crossed my mind more than a few times after seeing that drawling. I do know that major modifications would have to be made and i'm not shure about the engine compartment size?

1800 lb's.... The empty weight on my civic is 1867 lbs. A b18c or H22a doesn't tear them apart. That does look pretty badass in that picture though. Those car's are pretty damn good at taking off, it's not like mad power but electric engines have a shitload of torque so it goes when you want it to. but if you could swap something in it that'd be awesome.

well if some1 could look up the engine bay dimensions we could look into the dimensions of a d-series motor.... That might fit. A built d-series in that would get up and go pretty decently... I doubt a turbo would fit but maybe a supercharger would. I would look into that and see how much that project would run that would be very sleeper and very cool!

my mom has an insight and the thing isn't all that bad. it is geared high. it went about 100 in third but it couldnt go much faster. i like the gauges in it and i like the s2000 like steering wheel. another neat factor too is it has a factory short shifter already installed in it. it is deff. not fast but u can chirp the tires going from 1st to 2nd. someone was talking about the engine bay and it is small. it only has a 1 litre 3 cyl. motor in it. but then again im sure u could fit something. if u can fit a h22 in a civic u can put a d or b series engine in it.
