okay so here's the thing I finished priming my car down and I went to go buy paint from finishmasters (local automotive paint shop) they told me it would be 172 bucks total for everything. when i got home my dad yelled at me for picking up paint that was too expensive. I went back and I said to return everything. They said I could only return everything else except the paint because it was mixed.
So now I only have the paint. My friend said to just use the paint and clear coat with cans.
In the beginning, they said I needed to mix something with the paint or the clear coat or else it wouldnt harden. I'm a bit confused on what it was.
It said I returned
basemaker mid-temp QT
nasion 2.1 acct 1/2 PT
nason urethane c/coat QT
and i have now the paint
chromabase mix "k" QT
The first question is was I suppose to mix something with the paint or the clear coat?
And the second question is did i overpay for the paint? It's by dupoint chromabase nissan color code EV0...i paid just about 82 for the quart.

that pretty average price for good basecoat, you have to reduce the base and you put hardner in the clear. Some companies make a base hardner that is optional.

As for the price, you paid the right amount.
You need Dupont Basemaker for the colour mixed 1:1
Yes you do need a hardner for the clear. I believe the mix ratio is 2:1 not sure though.
And about your friend who says to clear with cans... Do you think you would be happy with dry streaks in your clear? It could happen to easily.
If you can't live with it you would have to sand it off completely and redo everything.
