what cab size? All ive done to my truck to customize it is limo tint all the way around, magnaflow muffler, 2 12's, and silvia cool blue lights. Id like to get a chrome grill, for 07 i think this (http://www.autotrucktoys.com/chevy_silverado/T-Rex-Chevy-Silverado-Billet-Grille-Overlay-07-Up-P14705C3892.aspx) looks good

2wd extended cab. Thinking of maybe some wheels, but they are expensive. The big wheel wells on mine look like they need something. Would like to just make it a little different.

It is true.. they new chevy's are nice but they need bigger tires. The stock tires are just too small for the size truck

But with smaller tires they can report higher mpg numbers....

yeah keeping stock rear end and larger rims will kill your acceleration and mpg. so im guessing you have the 17''s and not the 20''s stock huh? if so you can go 20'' rim and low profile tire and have the same final ratio

Thread Hijacker..... but if you want my honest opinion, why would you put 26" on a 4WD.... You would have absolutely no sidewall it would look and ride like Sh*t.

My thoughts exactly. 20" should be the bigest rim to go with. it you plan on doing some real off-roading, you want a smaller rim with bigger side walls.

My mistake, I didnt know chevy changed that with the new silverado. Regardless, my opinion is still mostly the same. While It might look okay (at best, I would go with at 22" at the biggest), I wouldnt do it just because of the harsh on road ride your going to have. Especially with the off road shocks and less that 2 1/2 inches of side wall. Just my .02 cents. Do what you like, in the end thats all that matters.

That was the first thing I said when my dad drove up in his. You could put some 26's on there. IMO that would look NICE :grinyes: . The ride might not be too bad, just go with a 4 inch or bigger sidewall. The only downfall would be that you would have to look really really deep into pocketbook.

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado LT that came with original 17" wheels . I changed them for the 20" wheels texas edition from the factory .
The question is :
Do I need to do a modification to the suspension ? or Does the Texas edition truck that carries the 20" have the same exact suspension as mine ?

silverado122775

Suspension should be the same however, your speedo may be off depending on your tire size.

knogoodidleft

yeah your suspension is good, and I belive if you got the recommended tire size for those 20''s your speedo should be spot on, they make it so the 17'' and 20'' rims are the same height.
