can someone help me out

i have a 93 grand am with the 3.3 in it when i try to start it all it does is just turn over and then sometimes it will start and it will idle just fine then when i push the gas pedel it will backfire and spit and spudder and then die and it wont start again then were back to where it just turns over and not firing i can let it sit for a while and then try it again and it will start i just changed my fuel filter so can anybody help me out i would really appreciate it :banghead: :popcorn: email me at [email protected]

try the plug & wires...
.... but if its backfiring, then it may have jumped time and need more internal work. :yikes:

Check and make sure it is getting spark and fuel to the motor.
