Hi fellas, I'm as good as back now.
In case you didn't read the "post yr car thread" i had some problems and kind of forgot (don't hurt me:frown: ) about this place, glad to see yall still hanging around here.
Ok here we go. I was at a friends place saturday afternoon, he was turning some tables while we enjoyed some late summer weather. Suddenly a friend of mine comes along with what seems to be the new audi A4 2.0 tdi in silver metallic. Nice car we said. He replied that it was a replace car running on the costs of his corporation and that it will be gone in three days to replace for his real factory car. The moment I wanted to ask to go for a spin he already asked to race me. Wy not, was my obvious reply.
So off we went. To the nearby expressway to find some redlights. A friend off mine was riding along shotgun with me and his girlfriend along with him. After 10 minutes of cruising and playing cat and mouse a bit we found a red light. I'm in the right lane and he was in the left one. The road ahead almost entirely free, only one car that turned in on the main way, an audi a 3 2.0... Well what a coincidence my buddy and i thought:iceslolan .
Traction control out!
Light turned green... A bit of wheelspin, audi right next to me, traction kicks in, 5000rpm, Shift. Second one half through and audi falling behind half a car. Third and we're off, audi now car and a half behind and pulling hard now. Magical fourth and i see the audi falling further. We took it up to 160, 170 (KM/H) i think. Quit the difference we thought (me and the shotgunner), i estimate 2, 3 busses. But then again, the audi sits with 136hp while I'm on 150hp.
I stop stepping on the throttle nearing the audi a3 and when I pass it I already see the driver gunning it. He want's to play along too:) . Now my buddy is next to him, me back on the right lane as we hit another light. The guy looked disappointed now seeing we were already in a race. My guess is he wanted to stand next to me :p
Anyway light turned green and we're off again. Better start and took a half lenght car more in comparision to the first run. Only this time due to open road, ideal temps and a beautifull afternoon i took it up to 220km/h, wich is my top speed. My buddy went along with me till 200 and then flashed his lights to say he stopped giving it all. By then, around 205 km/h, there were 5 busses between us we think. Anyway, shame we needed to get of the freeway again because it could be an interesting race between the 2 audis. But the friends and BBQ were waiting:icon16: .
In short, Goodtimes!!

lol if that was miles an hour my car would be insane :d
but its km/h,
diesel fights are interesting, especially if you have the same liters qua engine and it should come out evenly. And with should i mean it always is another finish then you thought it would be. I don't know if you guys know this but volvo, audi, bmw, and maybe mercedes even now start to use twinturbos on their newest diesels. really, it's getting good here for particular diesels. :)

The states are going to get the 335d. That should be fun. All of the Euro companies are starting to bring their diesels over. Very nice I think, at least it isn't that E85 crap.

great!! finally diesels in America, that's good news indeed for you guys.
my torque is 330 nm or 229 ft-lb
here are two 0 to 100 testruns late at night. 8 seconds, first run with traction control, second one without (you'll hear it chirp a bit on the dirty asphalt) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_gxBsgbGN0

E85 is a crock of shit.
And as an employee of General Motors, the above is in no way an official statement what so ever on the company's policy towards E85.

What you hear me yell on the video is 100, as in 100km/h. I couldn't set the camera so that it show my dash because i test this alone.
Diesel fight! I have a strange fascination with them since we don't get em.
don't worry, I'll keep racing them ;)

E85 is a crock of shit.
And as an employee of General Motors, the above is in no way an official statement what so ever on the company's policy towards E85.
Basically, E85 isn't as efficient as they make it sound.
You lose roughly 25% off your mileage when you run E85. So let's say the new Tahoe gets 20mpg highway. If you use the FlexFuel E85 fuel, you'll be getting 15mpg.
It just doesn't have the performance of the regular 87 octane.
Sure, it's cheaper to buy than regular gas. But it's not cheap enough to off set the performance drop. It's mostly marketing, it sounds good to hear that the fuel is a little cheaper than Gasoline. But when you notice that you're at the pump more often you'll still get hit in the wallet just as hard.
The wave of the near future is Diesel Hybrids! Or running Diesels on biofuel. Who doesn't like the smell of french fries!?

Does anyone else think it ironic that the Nobel Peace Prize (yeah, I know all of them are, but this one more than anything) is named after the guy who inveted dyanamite.

Dynamite was instrumental in the expnsion of america. And like most technology used for war it wasn't invented with war in mind. The wright brothers didn't think of dropping bombs on people when the invented the airplane.
Sorry about that it was longer then intended. CHEERS
