Gidday, first post here.......
I have a 154HP P11 SR20DE...comes standard in NZ that way (110kw)
What I'd like to know is this:
With forged pistons, turbo Rods and Cams to suit...After market computer control etc.....will the standard injectors give enough fuel to reach 200-220Hp??? and if they will , then will the standard fuel pump deliver enough???
I've heard the injectors won't and I'd need to get some purple S15 injectors...is this true??? or whats the story.
Thanx/ subz :)

Gidday!
The stock 259cc injectors reach their maximum safe horsepower around 200 bhp. If you are going to be making 200 bhp or more, I would highly suggest getting the 370cc injectors. There are several cars that use these injectors, including most SR20DET engines. These injectors are good for about 250-260 bhp. The MAF is also good for about this much bhp.
Good luck with your club racer. What modifications are you allowed? I am currently racing a Sentra SE-R in SCCA club racing. The Sentra SE-R is a B13 chassis with a SR20DE. We cannot make any internal modifications to our engines (in our class) except for balancing.
Here is a photo of me driving the car (a friend owns and also races it).

Thanx for the reply...
Mods we can do....Forged pistons, solid lifters etc, balance, Cams, dry sump (if you can afford it) etc etc
Money being the key issue.....
Is the standard SR20DE safe at 220HP??? will it turn into a hand grenade??
MAF= Whats that mean???
Also...have you have any problems with oil surge???
See ya mate...

Funny how it always comes down to that, eh? :)
You can do a lot more than we can in the class we run (lightly modified from street trim). We are exploring building a car for the next class up that will allow us to do all that. We're still doing research. We originally wanted to do it for next year, but I don't think it's realistic. We are still developing our current car and still have much to do. Besides, my car owner has only been out once this year and I've only been out twice. LOL! We do have an enduro coming up in two months, but now I'm just blathering on. :D
Can you run the Quaife LSD? That has been getting raves from the folks who are running them (no racers yet, but we do have a couple of people who do extensive lapping in their road cars). Some have reported gains of over a second a lap!

Oh man, the SR20DE is not even breaking a sweat at 220 bhp. We have some blokes here running crazy turbo set-ups with stock bottom ends (9.5:1 compression in The States) and getting over 400 bhp. This engine was clearly designed with racing in mind. The bottom end is nearly indestructable. The only problems we've really seen are some spun bearings (usually due to oil starvation) and occasionally the rod bearing caps separating from the rod resulting in a ventilated block as you can imagine. There are HD bolts for the rods though that should eliminate this issue (and it's pretty rare).
You have nothing to worry about with the bottom end.
The Achillies Heel with the SR20 is the hydraulic lash adjusters. Even slight over revs usually result in throwing rockers. With the hydraulic lifters, 8k rpm is the absolute limit and that's pushing it. About 7800 rpm should be considered redline. If you convert to solid lifters, you won't have nearly the worry about this.

That's pretty rare. I think I've heard of one person who had trouble with that. We have a lot of folks who run their SR20 powered cars hard on race tracks regularly. I think it's a non-issue. The sump is pretty well baffled. A little more baffling in the pan can certainly help. We've had a few people talk about doing that, but so far no one has done it - I think because it's not a real problem.
One thing you do need to worry about is water pump cavitation. The SR20 waterpump cavitates at high rpm (over about 6500 rpm or so) and that can cause overheating. There are underdrive pulleys available that will slow down the waterpump and they cure that problem completely.

Hmmm good answers there...cheers
I would like to get an under drive pulley set but haven't seen any in New Zealand or USA...seen some for other makes.
Do you where I can order some from on the net??
If anyone has a web sight with Primera racing stuff they've actually done it would be cool...not the BTCC etc coz thats way outta yours and my league.
Was thinking also what compression ratio they are safe to... 11:1 or 12:1??
This is great talkin to you....oh one more thing...do 18 inch wheels fit under guards ??? what size do you guys run??
Choice/ Subz

You want the set for the G20. If you can change the main pulley (we cannot) the 2 pulley set would be perfect. I am going to try to get them to sell just the waterpump pulley for racers who must retain the main pulley.

I used to have the url for a German team racing a Primera, but I can't seem to find it. I'll have to keep looking. Other than that, I personally haven't found any sites for teams running the G20/Primera in club racing. If anyone else has, I'd be interested too.

I was running 11:1 in my road car on pump petrol. There are several people here in The States running 11:1 in their road cars. With racing petrol, I think 13:1 would be OK with good tuning. You must have a remapped ECU to do this though. The map for my 11:1 engine was similar to the map for a turbo car.
If we build the club racer for the next class up, we will be building a 13:1 engine for it.

I think some people have been running 18 inch wheels on the P10, but I've found my 17 inch wheels are rather tight in the rear. The P11 seems to have plenty of room for 18 inch wheels.
Of course, race rubber will likely be taller than street rubber, and that would probably make 18 inch wheels a problem.

I'm not aware of anyone making gearsets for our gearbox. The SE-R (B13) gearbox has somewhat close ratios, but nothing like racing ratios. That gearbox comes standard with a viscous LSD. The GTi-R LSD will also fit this gearbox. The Quaife mechanical LSD requires you to have the viscous LSD as well.
I'll try to remember to post the ratios from the SE-R tonight.

hey guys :) another kiwi fellow here
hey primera man is yours a SMX version p11?
what suspension set up have you got on your ride? it does look low in the picture.
Subz, I have a 99 NZ new Primera GXE with only 96kw on tap
why the heck is there a 14kw drop from the older ones?
:p :p
hehe
It is a bit under powered aye...
I have done a bit to mine already...
mainly ICE and exterior mods
17s vallens with 215/40s
Nismo side skirts and Rear caps with the GTR style spoiler.
lowered with modified eibach springs (42mms vs 30mms std) and still desperately wanting to go lower.

who is doing it for you?
wouldn't mind having 220hp on tap too

my torque curve starts decreasing after 4600rpm :(

Our sanctioning body requires us to run stock diameter wheels!
Bloody awfuly looking 14" wheels. It's just silly. All of us running in this class complain about it. Try to find 14x7 wheels. It's bloody impossible without buying expensive racing wheels.
Thankfully my car owner has done just that. He bought a set of Panasports. They are super light weight and look like the old Minilites. They look really attractive on the car. But 14"?!!!!! YUCK!

Wayne, any chance you have an extra fiche lying around for the Primera? We've been trying to figure out what is required to install a JDM Primera Te bumper cover and possibly bumper on a USM G20.
If you don't have an extra floating around, would you be able to make some printouts of some sections? I have the USM G20 fiche. I need to compare a few things. T4 has been most helpful in this endeavor. This weekend or next I will probably pull the bumper off my car again to measure some things and shoot some photos for comparison.
It appears that the JDM bumper attaches differently than the USM bumper. I'm not sure about the bumper cover though.

Err this is kinda embarassing....but I made the start of a homepage for the club/my racing team call "Infintiy racing"...it just happens that I own infinity.net.nz domain.
took me like 5 mins so DON'T laugh too hard.
If you like it, I'll do more and get it workin and then get a mate to design it properly etc.
Cheers / subz

Yeah I think a forum would be cool and I think we better have a section for all nissan owners, not just primera.....maybe make it a Nissan STREET/ RACE site????.......I'll put some ideas together and then get the thing made within the next few weeks...gotta make it a Haul Ass sight..not some piece of shite.
subz/out
P.S it will be linked to all the major search engines so people can find it easily.

Hers my 2 cents worth......
Just make it for Primera's....there are plenty of other Nissan Clubs and sites.
You will end up with a heap of Skylines etc...I'm a big fan of Skylines, but i dont want to feel like the "poor mans car" impression i get when you do go to events
Get sick of the same question......"when you getting a Skyline "
