Can't complete Clutch Job

A new clutch was put in to 1995 Ranger. The job was complete until the cable going into the slave cylindar came out. Now it WILL NOT go back in. I know if it isn't straight it won't go in, and it is quite a hard push to get it in. I can push it in far enough that fluid will run out, just can't get it in to hear the click. Is there a trick that will get that sucker in there? It is a new slave cylindar. Thanks in advance! :banghead:

I know this is kind of late considering you posted this back in 2005, But I hope it helps some one else. On my 94 ranger there is a quick disconnect lline that goes to the slave cylinder, and in order to get it seated I had to move the white plastic ring as far as it will go ( about a 1/4 of an inch ) away from the slave cylinder and then the line will click into place. Hope this helps some one.

P.S. I am having a horrible time fixing the clutch on my 94 ranger. I have to constantly add fluid, and I can't find the leak on the system. Any ideas?
