hey,
I'm doing a research project for my university. I'm trying to learn more about power tool usage when it comes to automotive tuning, moding, fixing, etc.

Some people use power tools when moding their vehicle, other's do not. I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Please answer any or all questions that apply to you. This would be a huge help. Thanks!

A. People who don’t use power tools on their car:

1. Why don’t you use power tools?
2. What problems are there with power tools for car work?
3. What tools do you use?
4. What makes hand tools better than power tools?

B. People who use power tools on their car:

1. What tools do you use?
2. For what purposes?
3. What tool could you not survive without?
4. How would you rate this tool’s performance? (1-10 higher the better)
If you answered 10, are there any features or aspects that make it 10?
If you rated it below 10, what prevented you from rating it that high?

Response to A-4. You can feel the torque with a hand tool.

A. People who don’t use power tools on their car:

1. Why don’t you use power tools?
Most mechanics have an air compressor and use air tools.
pneumatic tools generally last longer than power tools.
Electric Impact tools are not as good as pneumatic.
Power tools change performance as battery charge goes down.

2. What problems are there with power tools for car work?
Not enough torque for all applications.
Have to recharge batteries (Air compressor is prefered)

3. What tools do you use?
Hand Tools and Air Tools

4. What makes hand tools better than power tools?
Never need eletricity for hand tools.
Power tools can't get into small areas as easily.
