Trouble with installing neon lights!

I've done everything to hook them up properly but when i hit the button they don't turn on...and im hooking it up through my cigarette lighter...ive tested to see that its getting power and it is but i think the button may be restricting the power from the lights...maybe i have to hold down the button or something i dont know...help is appreciated, thanks...its frustrating :banghead:

Sure you have double checked, but take a better look at your grounding, checking your power with a test light or probe, you have it grounded, but is the kit (neon light kit) grounds good.
